"When I was 18 I met Jesus.  It was in a church service (which I was only going to in order to meet girls) when suddenly it all made sense.  More than that, I realised deep inside that Jesus was not only a real historical figure but could only have been God's son.  When I realised that He had died for me that changed my life.  For good.

I walked out of the church and saw the world in colour for the first time.  It was as if I hadn't noticed the detail in creation before.  So here I was.  An 18 year old Essex boy suddenly thinking that the bush over the road was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life.  I also was flooded with a sense of peace and calm, like I had never known before.  Since then, following Jesus has been one big rollercoaster ride and a complete "rush".  Jesus has been making me into the man I have always aspired to be and the process continues."

 So what about you?

In plain terms a disciple of Jesus believes;

• Jesus is the son of God.
• That Jesus died on the cross to take the hit for all the bad stuff we do and will go on to do.
• He rose again after 3 days.  Showing that the the curse of death (the penalty for sin) has been totally dealt with.

And in turn, a follower of Jesus;

• Follows the teachings of Jesus as found in the Bible
• Is obedient to Him
• Develops a relationship with God.
• Seeks to serve Him in whatever way he/she can.
• Would normally get stuck into a local church to mix with and learn from other believers (who are now part of your family!)
