I didn't find Jesus 'till well past my 30th birthday after a lot of serious earthly living. (didn't find Jesus through church by the way, twas from a free book called 'Power For Living' http://powerforliving.com ) and when I did go to church, It didn't seem to be about the fighter, radical, non conformist, revolutionary Jesus that I knew He was - and it still isn't. If our life's a war, we need to be ready for BIG fight and I need to be prepared for a massive battle. I don't think that the church makes us aware of this or prepares us for it. The question is is how do we get our churches to make the changes needed? (I drive past a church building where they don't even change lightbulbs when they expire)!! Perhaps church for men should be something other than the Sunday morning service? Agree with what you say.
